Obviously, if you are still living there, it's going to look lived in. If you have kids and pets, it's going to look very lived in. One of the easiest things to do is to buy some larger Rubbermaid bins. The long short kind that you can slide under beds or couches are great. When you get a call that someone wants to come by, instead of throwing things in closets, which most buyers will look in, fill up the containers and slide them under the beds. Throw any dishes that might be in the sink or lying around the house into the dishwasher. If you stay on top of keeping the bathroom clean, that is one less thing to worry about. Same goes for dog owners; keep up with the poop scooping in the backyard, so you will not have to rush to do it when that phone call comes. If all goes right, you can nicely conceal your junk, run the vacuum and have a showing condition ready home in about an hour.
